As an artist, I’ve gotten many questions about my work. For instance, someone once asked me if I paint everyday. My answer was in just two words… I try. However, it’s difficult and unrealistic. When I get Commissioned work to do, I typically get right to it… Preparing the canvas, sketching the subject, working on the underpainting and so forth. The most rewarding time for me is when I get to paint whatever I want to paint. It is then that I scour the house for everyday objects that catch my eye in shape and color. Sometimes I even go to the local farm stand to see what interesting fruits and veggies they have that would make a dynamic still life. When I’m done using the produce in the set up, I cook them as part of our dinner…It’s the best recycling around :-)
